Château Bastor-Lamontagne

Sauternes

Once owned by of the King of France, the Domaine de Bastore, listed as early as 1453, is rich of a three centuries-history.
In 1711, it was sold to Vincent de La Montaigne, Counsellor at the Parliament of Bordeaux. This was how the La Montaigne family, later renamed Lamontaigne and, even later, Lamontagne, appended its name to that of Bastor and would become the Domaine’s first owner after the King.

Located in the commune of Preignac, an exceptional location in the heart of the Sauternes appellation, Château Bastor-Lamontagne is one of the few properties of the sauternes appellation detaining an « Organic » certification.

The Ciron, which flows a few kilometres from the estate, encourages the formation of morning mists in autumn, which are vital to the development of Botrytis cinerea.

Regularly described as “modern Sauternes”, Château Bastor-Lamontagne reveals a naturally elegant wine, with moderate concentration, full of freshness and harmony.
